Just another example of why I don't really get into hunting....

In light of the rising frequency of human/grizzly bear conflicts, the Montana Dept of Fish and Game is advising hikers, hunters and fishermen to take precautions and keep alert for bears while in the field.
They advised that outdoorsmen should wear noisy little bells on their clothing so as not to startle bears that aren't expecting them. They also advise outdoorsmen to carry pepper spray with them in case of an encounter with a bear.
It is also a good idea to watch out for fresh signs of bear activity. Outdoorsmen should recognize the difference between Black bear and Grizzly bear droppings. Black bear droppings are smaller and contain lots of berry seed and squirrel fur. Grizzly bear droppings have little bells in them and smell like pepper.....

Need I say more. I hope you didn't need to hunt down your Turkey for dinner tomorrow. Please have a blessed day and remember ALL the incredible things to be thankful for.

Simple pleasures

Today is the day to let the Lord direct you to do something so simple at no cost, that you can't believe the pleasure it can bring you. Open you're mind and find it today.... you'll be glad you did.
I've spent the last three days with my hands on my daughters every enlarging belly, waiting to feel my new granddaughter give me a love kick or punch. Do you know the pleasure I get from just feeling that jab? What a rush...... Not to mention the cheapest entertainment I could find... Of course, I am getting on my daughters nerves........that's what dad's do.
Let's be thankful for the simple things this week.
God bless.

Humility

What do you think God hates the most? I would say, based on what we observed in the New Testament, it would have to be PRIDE. Christ usually had something to say about it, in pretty strong words. Sooo, what attitude should we have to eliminate pride from our lives? Bingo -- humility.

This is good for me, because I've always taken great pride in my humility....

Isn't it interesting how God has a way of keeping us in line.... Why just last week I went to get physical therapy on my tendinitical shoulder (I just made up that word...has to do with the tendons). The therapist observed something he wanted the doctor to take a look at. He retreived him from the bowels of his office, which (after he washed up) of course, brought all the other therapists over, which of course had all the other patients staring, just waiting for their therapists to come back.....

The doctor asked me to raise my arm and said, "now push against my hand", as he poked my right pec muscle. "See there", he says, "no pec tone." "When I push here there should be pec tone". "Come here, you do it." The therapist comes around and pushes against my raised arm.... " yep, no pec tone." "See", the doctor says, "no pec tone." "Yeah", the therapist says, "no pec tone". All the therapists and attendees in the circle shake their heads knowingly, "Man, no pec tone".
Not believing what I'm hearing, I'm asking, did you say I had some pec tone? "NO", says the doctor, " I said you have NO pec tone."

Of course, he didn't take time to explain why that medically happened, based on my shoulder's malfunction. He just told all 4 therapists, 1 dr. attendee, 6 patients, and the 3 at the desk..... "HEY EVERYBODY, GET THIS...THIS GUY HERE HAS NO PEC TONE."

I finished up with that electrical stimulus machine and asked if they could attach it to my brain to erase some bad memory, but apparently I'd have to sign some papers for that.....

As I was leaving, I'm almost sure I heard a lady waiting on therapy whisper to the person next to her, "Hey, isn't that the guy with no pec tone?"

I'm not sure I'm going back.....

Before honor is humility. Proverbs 15:33

Just DO IT!

Mark Twain once said that if the first thing you do each morning is to eat a live frog, you can go through the day with the satisfaction of knowing that that is probably the worst thing that is going to happen to you all day long.
Your "frog" is your biggest, most important task today. Probably one that you have been procrastinating about. Stop everything right now and do it.
My pychology teacher in high school once said, (or maybe it was my therapist), and I'll never forget it...... oh, never mind...what was I talking about?

Oh yeah, "When you DON'T make a decision, you've just made a decision." By you not getting the most important task done today, you've made a decision that is detrimental to your success.

Successful, effective people, develop a habit of jumping on major tasks and staying focused until they are done.

What's your "frog" today? You've got my permission to eat it..... frog legs aren't that bad...

Have a blessed day today.

Why even try...... I don't consider myself a quiter, but give me a break. I take all that time to create and write a post, and I'm ignored. NOBODY has even commented to my post yet.

I'll give it one more hour, and then I'll need to reconsider this whole inspiration thing.....

Inaugural post....

Hey, everybody else that isn't anybody does a blog. So, I said to myself, why can't I be as uninspiring as the next guy. I mean, there are thousands, nay -- millions, out there that have the opportunity not to read my blog....and it should be their priviledge to do just that!

I guess my blog title is rather obvious. MOST of the things I think are funny the average person tends to shake their head at (usually in disgust). And, it USUALLY doesn't come out of my mouth the way I was thinking about it anyhow.

I encourage you to give me a chance. I believe there will be SOMETHING that will make you smile, shake your head, stop and go "hhmmmm", and want to throw up... or all of the above.

Enjoy the journey with me....however short it is. (We may have some rest stops along the way, as I'm over 50 and the prostate isn't what it use to be...
